I was poking around
one of my favorite junk shops a few years ago, and
to my delight stumbled upon on old miter box.

It was rusty and missing quite
a few parts, but it had a nice saw with it and good bones.
For some unknown reason I did not take a picture of it when
I got it, but it was rough! I cleaned all the rust off,
repainted the main castings, and replaced as many parts as I
could find.

Since I was less than pleased
with my power miter saw, I jumped at this one and happily
took it home.

The plate on it says Wards
Master, which was a house brand for Montgomery Wards. This
particular tool was most likely made by Stanley for them and
was originally patented in 1934.
