This English gunmetal
chariot plane with ebony infill recently found
a home with me.
The front ebony infill is flush, or
overstuffed, on one side but on the other side it is totally
inside the body. I think some previous owner sawed the overstuff
off that side but it was done long, long ago. I have used
chariot planes like this many years and I see no advantage if
having an asymmetrical front bun. Any of you ever see
asymmetrical stuffing like this on an infill plane before?
A fine chariot plane it is but note that on the front left side
is totally within the body and on the other side it extends over
