Working with Hands - James E. Price

  Cellarman's Boring Tool 2 of 2

The head has two small posts like a cagehead brace but not
as long as typical specimens.

This photo shows five cock plug bits. The second and third ones from
the top exhibit flat tangs. The second one from the bottom is marked,
"JACKSON" on one side and "LONDON" on the other.

These are the kinds of taps or cocks that fit in the tapered hole bored by cockplug bits. The specimen on the bottom requires a special key to open and close it. This prevented someone from pilfering the cask contents.

This photo shows two taps and two cockplug bits that would be used
to bore tapered holes to accommodate them.
