The head has two small posts like a cagehead
brace but not
as long as typical specimens.
This photo shows five cock plug bits. The
second and third ones from
the top exhibit flat tangs. The second one from the bottom is
"JACKSON" on one side and "LONDON" on the other.
These are the kinds of taps or cocks that fit
in the tapered hole bored by cockplug bits. The specimen on the
bottom requires a special key to open and close it. This
prevented someone from pilfering the cask contents.
