  19th Century Cased Leather Strop 2 of 2  

In this photo you can see that the "foot" elevates the end
so that in use it sits on a slant when in use.

This is a detail of the two little steel spikes that provide traction
for the strop when in use.

This photo shows the countersunk screw which is a pivot got
the lid which swings aside to expose the leather.
