It is so unusual I have to share
photos of it. Obviously it was made and used in a patternmaking
shop since it is a hybrid between a crank-neck chisel and a low
angle, bevel-up plane with a skewed blade.
The body is made out of gunmetal
and the steel shank was cast into it at the time it was poured.
The cutter is bifurcated and is
held in place by a brass screw.
It is not only a beautiful and
ingenious plane but it works extremely well too. I plan on using
it to cut long chamfers. The overall length of this plane is 12
1/2 inches and the bed is 1 inch wide.
