Some lovely old violin templates were used to seek inspiration
for the profiles then when cut traced and copied to the other
The old KT TOOLS "knife" cutting gauge was sharpened for the
occasion and cuts the line down the centre without following the
grain, a trait often found with some other types.
The end profile transferred to the other end.
Now to choose a marker. I decided that if the background were
dark. A dark marker would not show up and if bright, it would
disappear into the background. So how about a sandwich of both.
In keeping with only using native woods I had only one choice
for each from my collection. English boxwood for the light
colour and 5300 year old Norfolk bog oak for the dark.
