The heal of today's Madox.
The non-standard length Madox 1/2" longer than
the later standard Tracey.
Unusual cutout of the mouth of the Madox,
original I believe, as it is
the same old patination of the rest of the body.
The dogleg cut.
The wedge mortice on most planes has a flat
bed and a flat forward edge,
forming a V. In this plane the forward edge comes down and then
parallel to the bed. In this way it shapes like a dog's leg
hence the name.
